Become a Transportopian: Transportopia Is Now on Patreon

Transportopia has a new home on Patreon. It's a different way for you to connect with the show, and I'd love for you to join us.

A podcast mostly runs in one direction. I research the stories. I record. You listen on your commute, on a walk, or waiting for the next train. Patreon adds a new way to connect and support our work. It lets listeners who care about this show take a direct part in keeping it going.

Transportopia is independent. There's no agency, no network and no corporate owner behind it. Every episode takes hours of reading, reporting, booking guests, recording and editing. Hosting and production tools cost money too. Your support helps cover those costs and gives me more time to find the stories and voices that make transit better.

When you join, you become a Transportopian. That's what I'm calling the riders, planners, operators, advocates and proud transit nerds who make up this community. You believe good transit makes better places. So do I.

The membership levels follow a familiar transit idea. Like a good bus network, you can pick your level of service. Express is our middle tier. Rapid is our top tier, and the first 20 people who join or upgrade to Rapid will receive a Transportopia member mug or highball glass. Members will also get a Transportopia sticker you can't find anywhere else.

Here's what won't change. Every episode of Transportopia stays free for everyone. That includes our full-length interviews, our News and Views bonus episodes and the blog. Patreon is a way to support the show. It isn't a paywall.

If Transportopia has made your commute more interesting, taught you something new or given you an argument to bring to your next city council meeting, I hope you'll hop on board.
